Year 6 make posters to encourage food bank donations

In Matthew 25: 35-40 it reads –

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, “I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.

Year 6 have reflected on this bible reading and put their belief in ‘caring for those in need’ into action.

This year they organised posters to encourage our school families to support the WASHINGTON FOOD BANK. They informed parents of the items specifically needed by the food bank, organised a collection point on the school yard and helped pack the good to be sent to the food bank.

The Washington Food Bank organisation was  very grateful for the contributions, especially at this difficult time when families are struggling due to COVID. They sent us a certificate of thanks which was gratefully received by all Y6.
