Physical Education

Statement of Intent

At. St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School we recognise the importance of Physical Education and the role it has to play in promoting long term healthy lifestyles. We deliver a curriculum which is accessible to all and which maximises the development of every child, enabling them to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. We strive to inspire our pupils through fun and engaging lessons, teaching them the fundamental skills which allows them to take part in a range of competitive sports and activities, whilst embedding the culture and enjoyment of sport and physical activity, leading to a life-long participation in sport.  We are passionate about teaching children how to cooperate and collaborate with others as part of a team; helping them to gain an understanding of fairness and respect for rules and others and developing their sports person like behaviour.
