Statement of Intent

St Joseph’s Geography curriculum intends to deliver a knowledge rich curriculum which engages all children and allows them to develop a range of skills. Our Geography curriculum supports children in the development of their understanding of the wider world and their place in it. Through our teaching, pupils develop an understanding and knowledge of place and can use a range of equipment and resources to identify places. Throughout both Key Stages, learning is built upon and revisited to allow children to recall and develop their knowledge.  By the end of Year 6, we intend for children to be able to have developed an understanding of the world around them locally, nationally and internationally and be confident in their understanding and knowledge.
