Statement of Intent

We aim to prepare our children for a rapidly changing world through the use of technology at St. Joseph’s and provide a high quality computing education which equips children to use computational thinking and creativity to understand the changing world.

The curriculum will teach children key knowledge about how computers, computer systems, and how they are designed and programmed.

We aim for all pupils to become digitally literate- able to use, and express themselves and develop their ideas through, information and communication technology – at a level suitable for the future workplace.

As well as the benefits of ICT, we are also aware of the risks, this is why we prepare our children to be responsible digital citizens, who carefully consider the content they create, share and use – this is reinforced through the use of e-safety awareness sessions and safer internet day.
