There was not a sound to be heard! We have asked our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils to trial a new online reading program called Reading Plus. We look forward to hearing their views and opinions.

Year 2 read ‘Topsy and Tim Help a Friend’. They know what to do if anyone is being bullied and made super wristbands to show they’re united against bullying.
In Year 2, we’ve listened to the story of Mr Big, by Ed Vere. The children understand that you should never ignore someone because of how they look. They’ve been hard at work designing posters and “How to be a good friend” bunting.
In English today, Year 6 read two children’s stories about anti-bullying: Monty the Manatee and Willy the Wimp. They looked at the similarities and differences of the stories and discussed how effective they were at helping to stop bullying.
Reception listened very carefully to the story ‘The Smartest Giant In Town’We came up with lots of adjectives to describe the giant and we discussed how the giant helps lots of different animals throughout the story. We also thought of a range of ways we could help others at home[…]
Today, Year 5 have read How to be a Lion by Ed Vere and picked out the key messge that our uniqueness makes us special and we don’t all have to be the same. We should stand by our friends and believe in ourselves!
