We are children of God: we achieve, believe and care.
Religious Education
Statement of Intent
At St Joseph’s school, we are
committed to the Catholic faith and see RE as the core of the core curriculum. We
recognise and value every individual’s right to a curriculum that engages,
inspires and challenges all pupils, encouraging them to reach their true
potential. This is evidenced in our motto: We are children of God: we achieve, believe and care. Our intent is to equip children with the knowledge
and skills to answer challenging questions, explore beliefs, values and
traditions in the Catholic and other faiths. Our religious education is
coherently planned and sequenced using the Diocesan ‘Come and See’ programme.
The children are taught about God’s love; they learn about their Christian
responsibilities; children are provided with experiences of church, Catholic
and Christian traditions, as well as being taught to be respectful and
understanding of people and traditions from other faith backgrounds.
