St. Joseph’s is a happy and caring Catholic school where everyone aspires to reach their true potential with Christ at the heart of all we do.

Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School! I hope that you will enjoy looking around our site. Our aim is to give you as much information as possible about our school, the staff and the many activities our children enjoy through our curriculum and extra-curricular activities.

We are a Catholic school which prides itself on living its mission by creating a happy, caring school where everyone is encouraged and inspired to reach their true potential. I am extremely proud to lead a team that is committed to children’s well-being, achieving high standards and providing the very best opportunities for all in our care.

The excellent start begins in Nursery and continues through the school with staff providing a happy, supportive and purposeful environment, and a curriculum that excites and stimulates children’s imaginations and creative thinking. Our curriculum is delivered both through discrete subject teaching and a cross curricular approach, which is further enhanced by whole school themed days and event. Within our school site we are fortunate enough to have our own playing field, two trim trails, an all-weather running track and our very own Forest School. Frequent trips, visits and a wide range of after-school clubs further add to the opportunities available to our children.

We work in partnership with parents/carers and the wider community to ensure the success of our children. We believe that children learn best when there are strong links between home and school.

We are proud to be part of the Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust along with our feeder secondary school St Robert’s and Catholic primary schools from the parish of St. John XXIII.

The staff, children and governors are extremely proud of St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School and are always pleased to show visitors around so you can see for yourself what we offer all children. To find out more about our wonderful school, please do contact us.

Mrs Black will be on the gate tomorrow morning welcoming the children into school. She is expecting a polite “Good Morning Mrs Black!” from all the super smart children in their full school uniform!
She is hoping no one plans to break the rules …….

Today we thank Year 6 for leading us through the Stations of the Cross and Year 5 for their Resurrection Liturgy. It was wonderful to be reminded that our story has a happy ending in the risen Christ – the celebration of Easter.
These short Holy Week acts of worship can be found on your child’s Seesaw in the activities for this week.

As part of their Faith in Action project, Year 6 have made beautiful Easter cards for the residents of a local care home. Aren’t they lovely! We hope they will put a smile on their faces! 💐 😃 See MoreSee Less
